Corporate Profile

Established in 1976, Real Savings and Loans Association, Inc. (RSLAI) opened as a single-branch bank in Cainta to serve the people of Rizal.

In 1994, a new group of investors led by realty developer Jose L. Acuzar, saw an opportunity for expansion and decided to increase the bank’s reach to the other parts of Luzon. With this, a rebranded corporate name was implemented – The Real Bank (A Thrift Bank), Inc. and its main office was also transferred to The President Tower along Timog Avenue, Quezon City.

Now with twenty four (24) branches strategically located in Metro Manila and the major growth municipalities of Bulacan, Pampanga, Laguna, Cavite, Batangas, including Rizal, total resources stand at P8.115Billion as of June 30, 2013, from P2.39Billion in 2003, or an increase of 239.54%. The Real Bank remains steadfast even in the midst of financial crisis some years back as it has built its foundation on solid operations and sound financial strategy.

In addition to its core fundamentals, the Real Bank has also kept its social responsibility in mind when it partnered with the Department of Education in advocating the value of saving among the Filipino youth. This endeavor recognized the bank with several awards. Its latest planned undertaking in the field of social responsibility is offering micro-financing support to the small and medium enterprise market, and continue supporting the Filipino dream through its existing housing and auto loan products.

The Real Bank is continuously evolving. The current Management team continues to explore various channels to improve its technology, products, and services to meet the needs of the bank’s diverse clientele, never missing the value of the personal touch to a client.

On its 37th year of Upholding Filipino values and Supporting Filipino dreams, the shareholders, management, and staff share their success to each and every client and to all its partners, suppliers, and service providers for all the support and for being a part of The Real Bank family.

To each and every Filipino, The Real Bank continues to offer nothing less but REAL SERVICE!

Corporate Logo

The Corporate Logo and Colors

The Real Bank Logo is a royal seal that encloses the “alibata” or “baybayin” representation of REAL (‘de-a’) in a harmonious overlap. The baybayin, also known as alibata, is an original Filipino alphabet and writing used by the natives prior to the arrival of the Spaniards in the 16th century.

In said alibata writing, each syllable is spelled or represented by a particular symbol forming a group of words then used for writing, reading and speaking. This was initially used by the Spaniards to introduce Christianity in the Philippines until the Spaniards language evolved and developed new sounds which altogether formed the present Filipino “ABAKADA.” The baybayin or alibata was preserved only in places where the Spaniards barely resided.

However, current studies led some scholars to the re-discovery of this original Filipino alphabet and it is now being studied in schools and is being incorporated into contemporary Filipino art.

The Real Bank Logo puts the two alibata symbols or alphabet that spells the name of the bank “REAL” (‘de-a”) pertaining to royalty and truth. It essentially conveys the Bank’s ultimate mission of providing real, royal, pro-active and distinct financial service that is “the root” of true Filipino banking service to the Filipino people.

The color red is used for the alibata symbols in the logo. It is also used as the dominant color in the new signages – as it is the most attention-grabbing and energetic red that instantly demands attention. It is also the color symbolizing “prosperity.”

The color yellow, on the other hand, used as the background for the logo and for the text corporate name “The Real Bank” is the color of the sun, gold, spiritually and inspiration. It is usually associated with goodness and joy as well as caution. Yellow also is a color of energy and is a symbol of friendship and warmth.

Lastly, the color blue was used to outline the seal as it is the most sedate of all colors, thereby giving balance with the use of the vibrant colors of red and yellow. It symbolizes the heavens and divinity and since it is a fairly serious color, blue is the color of choice in the business world.

The new logo and corporate colors, in essence, is symbolic of the new ideals for which the new The Real Bank stands for – “going back to the roots” of authentic Filipino culture.
